Public Assistance Requested to Identify Two Young Girls Found Deceased

Mar 04, 2026

Councilman Mike Polensek is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two young Black girls, determined to be half-sisters, estimated to be between 8 and 14 years old, whose bodies were recently discovered inside suitcases in a field. Investigators are working urgently to determine the girls’ identities and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

School officials, youth program leaders, and community members should carefully consider whether they know of two girls who may match their description who haven't been seen in some time.

Officials are asking the public to consider the following:

Do you know of two Black girls between approximately 8 and 14 years old who may be siblings or half-siblings and who have not been seen recently?
Have any students recently stopped attending school, church programs, sports teams, or community activities without explanation?
Are there two young girls in your neighborhood, apartment complex, or extended family who have suddenly disappeared or whose whereabouts are unknown?
Do you know of relatives, guardians, or caregivers who may have been responsible for two girls in this age range and they haven't been seen recently?
Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in identifying the girls and determining what happened to them.

Community members who may know of two sisters 8 to 14 years old who have not been seen recently, are urged to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police at 216-623-5464.

Councilman Polensek is encouraging the public to share this information widely to assist investigators.

"This horrific crime must be solved," said Councilman Polensek, who represents Ward 10 where the girls were found.

Collinwood Homeowner's and Tenant Association is meeting tonight at 6 pm at Saint Mary of the Assumption, 15519 Holmes Ave. Councilman Polensek will be there to give updates to the community.
