Standing Up for Citizenship Rights: A Federal Advocacy Conversation

On May 8th, Councilwomen Stephanie Howse-Jones and Jasmin Santana hosted a live conversation on Instagram to discuss the topic of birthright citizenship—a constitutional right currently facing legal and political challenges.

The issue has recently made headlines after the President attempted to end birthright citizenship through an executive order. Multiple courts have since blocked the order, but the matter may soon be taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court.
