Councilman Polensek Welcomes New Business to Collinwood

Dec 04, 2025

Join Councilman Mike Polensek on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM for the Grand Opening of Catanese Classics’ new spot inside the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Community Resource Center on S. Waterloo.

Catanese Classics started out as a seafood company and has grown a lot over the years, expanding its lineup to keep up with what customers want. Today, they offer everything from local, domestic, and imported seafood to cheeses, meats, spices, and other specialty items. They also run a custom spice program and handle cheese cutting and packaging.

This opening celebrates the company’s growing partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the many nonprofits located in the building. Everyone involved is looking forward to working more closely together and making an even bigger impact across Northeast Ohio. The move from the Flats to Collinwood involved renovating a large section—more than 42,000 square feet—of the SW rear of the Food Bank’s Community Resource Center and Market.

After outgrowing their previous Cleveland locations, Catanese Classics chose the Food Bank building as their new home. “We are very excited that our new location is in The Greater Cleveland Food Bank building,” said CEO John Catanese. “We are thrilled to be a part of the Cleveland Food Bank community, growing our partnership, and collaborating with them on current and future opportunities.”

The event is the perfect chance to check out their new space, including an expanded processing facility now operating in the Food Bank’s busy nonprofit hub.

“Catanese Classics has been a trusted Cleveland business for decades, and seeing them put down roots here in Collinwood is a real win for our community,” said Councilman Polensek. “I’m proud to welcome them to S. Waterloo and excited for the positive impact this collaboration will bring to our neighborhood and all of Northeast Ohio.”
